Fish stores

Hello,

Here is a short introduction of who I am:

My name is Susan Kaye and I graduated with my B.A. in Creative Writing. And now I work in an aquarium store. This is actually the third aquarium store that I have worked at. When I graduated college, like so many of my fellow graduates, it was hard to find work. I ended up taking the first job that would have me; a fish store. I did not know a lot about fish or aquatic species or the products that went with them! If you had asked me what a filter was, I would've answered like this, "It's that thing you put in the back of a tank that keeps the fish alive." After working at the first place for 7 months, I learned how to properly answer this question and many more. I ended up leaving the store for another one, which offered higher pay. At the second store I learned a lot more, did my first aquascape, and worked with reptiles. I believe working at these stores was the reason for the eight aquariums and one terrarium that I owned!

After a few months, I decided to move to Florida and look for a job in a completely different field. Office and clerical work was what I pursued. I wanted to become a professional and not stay in retail. However, I found myself in a petstore soon after moving down. I ended up speaking with another customer who told me about this amazing aquarium store that specialized in marine species. I couldn't help myself; I had to see this store for myself. I went there a week later and realized that it was an amazing store. There was a large selection of livestock and corals and the aquariums were very clean. One could tell that the owners and employees spent a lot of time, energy and money into ensuring the life of their livestock. I began chatting with an employee and told him about my history with fish stores and he introduced me to the owner. Less than two weeks later, I found myself working in yet another fish store. I couldn't deny my passion for fish and aquascaping any longer! So, I decided to write this Blog for people who own, want to own, like to read about, or just have a passion for fish and aquariums.
